Elementary Campuses Decorated for Fall in Annual HHE PTA Event
The Hen Hud Elementary PTA organized its annual Fall Clean Up of the campuses of Buchanan-Verplanck, Frank G. Lindsey and Furnace Woods Elementary Schools on Saturday, Oct. 12, sweeping away fallen leaves and branches and providing fall decorations to add a dash of color to our buildings.
Led by members of the HHE PTA, community members joined forces to expedite the cleaning and decorating process. After some gardening, they arranged mums, pumpkins, corn stalks, hay bales and more to dress up the schools for the fall.
“We were so grateful to all who volunteered and donated and who also put a lot of preparation into the planning,” said Katheryn Salazar, a co-chair of the Beautification Committee, which organized the effort.
Donations came from parents as well as several local businesses, including Home Depot, Lowe’s, and nearby Hilltop Nursery & Garden Center.
